Jena McClure – founder of ribbons for rae, began her fashion career after graduating The Art Institute of Philadelphia. Armed with a degree in Fashion Marketing, she started her professional journey as a visual merchandiser for The Gap. At The Gap, she set up new stores, re-designed existing stores and trained the management and sales staff in merchandising.
After moving to New York City, Jena followed her dream and worked her way up the fashion ladder in the Couture Bridal industry. She learned the ins and outs of bridal retail as a manager for world renowned Kleinfeld. At Kleinfeld Jena not only managed the bridal stylists but also styled countless brides for their wedding days. She later moved on to work for top Couture designer Amsale. There Jena gained extensive experience in the wholesale bridal market. She was first a national sales representative traveling the U.S. to style brides at stores such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. Later Jena became the Director of Retail overseeing Amsale’s flagship operations. After moving out of New York City, she remained involved in the industry by working with Couture Bridal Accessory designer Homa, as Director of Marketing.
After having 2 (very fashionable) little girls, Jena was completely focused on her family, but she still needed a creative outlet. Tired of spending a small fortune on her daughter’s hair accessories, she started making them herself. After countless inquiries as to where she got the adorable bows, Jena decided to put all of her industry experience and creativity into her own business.
Jena has been a member of The Fashion Group International for over 16 years. She currently lives in South Florida with her husband Shawn and her daughters, Zoe and Lola.
